The patent system exists to nurture that "vital spark" that is each new invention. Sadly, the IP system contains many pitfalls and relies upon the patent attorney to bring that other "vital spark": the clear and complete communication of difficult ideas between the inventors, their business managers and investors, and the patent examiners, lawyers and judges who rule upon them.
John Gray IP was established in 2014 to support other professionals in delivering high value-added work in relation to patents and designs.
Our quick technical understanding, forensic attitude and eye for detail can be applied in litigation support, patent drafting, patent prosecution, opposition, licensing, due diligence and patent strategy generally.
With a strong grounding in electronics & physics and software technologies, we are comfortable with inventions in "high technology", but we also champion innovation in "low technology" fields.
John Gray IP serves as a consultant to leading IP firms. Our clients are primarily patent attorney firms in the UK and Europe. We bring them the Vital Spark to support their clients in a range of tasks that may be outside their "comfort zone".
Recent tasks include litigation support over multiple jurisdictions, patent drafting, patent prosecution, opposition, re-establishment of rights, collaboration agreements, to name a few. Design filings and disputes is another specialism.
Our client firms may want someone to take the lead facing their clients, or merely provide a second opinion behind the scenes. They may have a loss of rights situation and need an outside eye to get the rights restored. They may even want help developing internal procedures and IT systems, or considering professional conduct questions.
Enquiries are welcome also from in-house IP departments or IP solicitors.
